It’s hunker down weather at Highland Woods, so as we sit and watch the beautiful snow fall from inside our warm houses, we are daydreaming of summer and warm things at Highland Woods. We love to warm up thinking of our favorite outdoor fun at Highland Woods, like:
Tennis with friends. When it warms up, dust of those tennis rackets, call a neighbor, and get out to the competition-quality tennis courts for a game of doubles. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, this is a great way to get active and bond with the neighbors for residents of Highland Woods.
Pick up basketball. Grab a ball and shoot around on the community basketball courts. Go solo, or grab a family member or neighbor for some one-on-one, horse or around the world. Or gather a group for knock out or a pick up game.
A leisurely stroll or bike ride. Within the community, you can take your time enjoying the views of the 196 acres of open space, including the 18 acre lake while touring the 5+ miles of walking/biking trails. Pop some earbuds in and enjoy your favorite music or podcast, or invite a neighbor for some good conversation.
Volley in the sand. Grab a volleyball, 10 of your neighbors, and channel your inner Misty May-Treanor in a game of volleyball on the sand volleyball court. Serve, pass, set, and spike your way to victory! Or just casually bump it around and see how it goes!
Swim, swim, and swim! We are especially thinking of the hydrotherapy pool as we think of summer in the middle of winter, but those with the most active imaginations can get themselves to think of those hot summer days where the only way to cool off is to splash in the 25 meter, 6-lane lap pool, children’s water park, or even getting wild and taking a ride down the triple loop water slide.
